I am an award winning & published landscape photographer based just outside Whitby on the Yorkshire coast.
I live here with my family, having the great fortune to be by the sea but also to live on the doorstep of the eastern fringes of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park.
I was born in 1968 in the South of England but moved to Leeds a couple of weeks later. Although I have spent the majority of my life in the North, I lived in the home counties for nearly 14 years before moving back to Yorkshire.
Living where I do naturally draws me to the sea and consequently a fair proportion of my images are water based. Since starting, my photography has evolved. At first I only shot 'traditional' images but as time has gone on my images have become more minimalist, often using long exposure & intentional camera movement. Within the last two years, I have started producing multiple exposure images and often combining those images with ICM. These techniques produce truly unique compositions which all photographers long for. As well as classic landscape photography, I also teach alternative camera techniques which participants have enjoyed very much.
Since living near Whitby I have built up an in-depth knowledge of the area and locations from which to shoot. Using this local knowledge plus experience behind the camera, I continue to run small group workshops & one-to-ones based in Whitby and along the Yorkshire coast.
Please see my Workshops page for details.
